Endurance Baltimore
Endurance Baltimore is a partnership between the Baltimore Civic Fund and 20 Degrees, a firm specializing in nonprofit financial resilience and revenue creation. 20 Degrees has created a three-phase program tailored to each cohort that provides a valuable opportunity for small nonprofits to build on their financial strategies, learn with other nonprofit leaders in the City, and provides one-on-one personalized coaching at no cost to the selected organizations.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Will participating in Endurance Baltimore impact my ability to receive other grants from the Baltimore Civic Fund or Baltimore City?
No. You will still be able to apply to the Civic Fund's Nonprofit Relief Fund. Participation does not guarantee future funding from the Baltimore Civic Fund.
What does a commitment to Endurance Baltimore look like? How much time will this commitment take?
This program will be for 8 months, with group and individual sessions each month. There may be work between sessions to complete and Endurance Baltimore will make themselves available throughout your participation should you have questions between sessions. We expect 3-4 hours per month between sessions and work between.
Does more than one person need to attend Endurance Baltimore sessions?
We welcome up to two representatives to each session, often including organization leadership. The Executive Director or equivalent is highly recommended to attend the first session. (Department Directors or Board Members can also be included, depending on what makes sense for your organization.) To be eligible for the final award, organizations must participate in 90% of the sessions.
If I can’t make it to the dates listed, will that impact my application? (added 3/18)
No. The dates listed are tentative dates - after the cohort is selected, we will work together to figure out times and dates that work best for everyone, and we will be sure to be mindful of communicating different meeting times beforehand.
What does “financial resiliency” mean?
Financial resilience is the ability to withstand financially stressful events (like COVID-19) that impact an organization’s income and/or assets through the identification and implementation of sustainable strategies.
How many organizations will be selected to a cohort?
this cohort will feature 10 organizations. It will be a competitive application process to determine the 10 organizations. For those organizations who are unable to participate in this cohort, we will be offering a second cohort in late Summer 2022.
How will you decide who is selected to be in a cohort? (updated 3/18)
Organizations will be required to complete a short, simple application. Eligible organizations are local to Baltimore City, have annual budgets less than $1 million, and are interested in building capacity and learning about financial resiliency. While we look at each application individually, we will also review the applications as a collective to determine a group of 10 that we believe will build a great community, as that is what has brought such great success to past cohorts.
What we believe builds a great community in a cohort:
An authentic excitement about the program and all it offers
A readiness to engage with us, the program, and your cohort peers
A willingness to be vulnerable so that you can learn and grow with your cohort
What is the average operating budget of past participants? (added 3/18)
Endurance Baltimore is a program that meets organizations where they are currently financially, and 20 Degrees has worked with nonprofit organizations of all different backgrounds. For this program, the average operating budget of eligible organizations is around $340,000.00.
